Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 8, 2026
This policy explains how information is handled on woodywoodhouse.com, the professional website of Mike “Woody” Woodhouse, including speaking inquiries, media requests, and the SEAM chapter preview.
Information you share
When you contact us, we receive the information you provide, such as your name, email address, organization, event date and format, audience size, budget range, and message. Optional fields help us understand your event; you can leave them blank.
The chapter-preview form asks for your first name and email address. Signing up for news and updates is a separate, optional choice. You can also contact us directly by email, in which case we receive your address and the contents of your message.
How information is used
We use information to respond to inquiries, discuss speaking engagements and collaborations, provide requested resources, maintain relevant correspondence, and operate and improve the website. If you opt in to updates, we may email you about SEAM, speaking, and related work. Sending a speaking inquiry does not by itself subscribe you to marketing emails.
Hosting, forms, and service providers
The website is hosted by Squarespace. Form submissions are stored through Squarespace and sent to our business email so we can review and respond to them. Hosting and email providers process this information as part of delivering their services.
Squarespace also processes technical information needed to serve the site, such as your IP address, browser, device, and network information. Website analytics may include pages visited, referring pages, clicks, and visit times to help us understand site use. See Squarespace’s Privacy Policy for details about its processing.
We may disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, or the security of the website. We do not publish the contents of your inquiry as a testimonial without your permission.
Cookies, video, and spam protection
Cookies and similar technologies support website functions and may be used to measure site activity. You can block or delete cookies using your browser settings, although some features may not work as expected.
Pages include YouTube videos, and forms use Google reCAPTCHA to help prevent spam. These services may receive technical data, including your IP address and browser information, and may use cookies when their content loads or you interact with it. Their processing is covered by Google’s Privacy Policy. reCAPTCHA is also subject to Google’s Terms of Service.
External websites
Links to book retailers, publishers, social networks, articles, and other organizations take you to services with their own privacy practices. If you purchase a book through a retailer, that retailer handles your order and payment information. Review the relevant service’s policy before providing personal information.
Retention and security
We retain personal information for as long as needed to respond to requests, manage ongoing relationships, and meet applicable legal or recordkeeping obligations. Retention depends on the nature of the information and the reason it was collected.
We use reasonable safeguards to protect information, but no website, email system, or method of storage can guarantee absolute security. Service providers may process information in countries other than your own, where privacy laws may differ.
Your choices and requests
You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information you have provided by emailing mike@woodywoodhouse.com. Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have additional privacy rights. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request, and some information may need to be retained for legal reasons.
To stop marketing emails, use the unsubscribe link in an update or email us. This does not prevent replies to an inquiry or other communications you request.
Children and policy updates
This professional website and its forms are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the site, contact us so we can review and address it.
We may update this policy as the website or our practices change. The date above identifies the latest revision. For privacy questions, contact mike@woodywoodhouse.com.
